Debate Coach

Debate fuels the power of persuasion, and our World Debate Clubs develop children and young peoples empathy, tolerance and understanding. If you want to change the world you need to win the debate and we are looking for Debate Coaches to mentor the next generation.

As a Debate Coach you can expect to take a leading role in mentoring your own group of children and  young people.

 

You will prepare them for the Public Debate Championship and take pride in seeing their skillset and knowledge of the world grow.

 

We are looking for volunteer Debate Coaches to lead the development of our Debate Clubs for 2hrs a week, usually on a Saturday afternoon / early Saturday evening twice a month  and develop motions to debate, providing tips and guidance on techniques to improve their public speaking and to lead their team to victory in Public Debate  Championship.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of competive debating.
  • Commitment to mentor young people for one academic year from Sept 2018 – July 2019 for 2hrs a week on a Saturday twice in a Month.
  • Experience of working with children, young people is desirable but not essential

Applicants for this voluntary role will checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS ) as you will be working with children and young people.

Locations are South London, Kent, Medway Towns and Essex
